Under the Texas Stars
My high school girl had her prom on Friday.
It was small in size, but turned out to be lovely.
The theme was "Under the Texas Stars".
And indeed it was. Just look at this view.
The dance was held at a retreat center that had a beautiful outdoor pavilion. Not your standard prom location, but it seemed just right.
I helped with the decorating, and we used lots of white lights, burlap, and galvanized items.
I found these big stars made from old tobacco sticks while shopping the fields in Warrenton, and we hung them around the perimeter of the pavilion. I bought the natural ones, and they looked wonderful.
The entry looked magical all lit up.
We used small ball jars for the drinks. One mom tied a tag to each jar with the student's name attached. We put all the jars in a vintage metal laundry cart. Super cute. Wish I had a photo... also wish I would have snapped more photos to share, but I had my little guy with me. He kept saying, "I want to go to prom... I want to dance". One of the girls was so sweet to dance with him before we left. The sun was also setting, which made it a challenge for this amateur photographer.
Here is my prom girl and her little brother before the dance.
Fun stuff.
